Tubular Air Heater - Finned

Generally for use in applications where the sheath temperature is not expected above 400 C.

Variety of material are available, most typically Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Incoloy. Designs are based on elements having  sheath diameter of 8.0mm and 11.0mm with fins spaced at 25 fins (approx.) per 100mm of length. The number of fins per running inch of element ranges from 2-9, a standard of 5-6 fins (approx.) and allowing reasonable clearance between fins to reduce sludge or scale collection in between.

The diameters of PHP Finned Heating Elements confirm to our listed sizes, i.e. 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16".

Typical Applications
For Air heating applications such as forced air duct heating, recirculation drying ovens, air conditioning systems plus many others.
PHP Finned Elements are supplied in a number of standard sizes but special wattage and lengths can be manufactured on request.

Immersion Heaters

PHP provides the most efficient methods for heating. All the heat generated is observed by the surrounding material providing the highest heating efficiency possible. PHP Immersion Heaters are available in a full range of shapes, mounting methods, sheath matrerial and electrical rating. Immersion Heaters are designed to produce various heat intensities(Watt densities). mild temperature for thick oils, waxes, molasses, soft matels and other dense materials. More intense heat for water, salt and other solutions having high heat absorbing rates.

The three basic types of mounting provides easy installation and accurate temperature control. PHP Immersion Heaters are highly useful in industrial and commercial applications. Different sheath materials are used to correspond to the characteristics of the material being heated providing maximum resistance when used on corrivise materials.

PHP Immersion Heaters basic design consists of Tubular heating elements formed to a hairpin or other suitable shapes and brazed or welded to pipe plugs, steel flanges or steel plates. The heater terminals are sealed against moisture and protected something metal box providing ample space for electrical wring.

Screw-Plug

Screw-Plug type Immersion Heaters are screwed directly through threaded openings in the tank wall. Heavy tank walls can be drilled and tapped. It is recommended that a minimum of 1" of threads be obtained. If not possible a pipe coupling should be welded onto the wall of the tank. Use proper
soldering or well something material to correspond with material being heated. PHP Heaters offer a wide range of Screw-Plug Immersion Heaters in various sizes, sheath materials and electrical ratings.
Flanged

Flanged type Immersion Heaters are mounted to pipes or tanks having standard Flanged mounting provisions. A protective well is standard to accept the capiliary bulb of a thermostatic control. Special laminated gaskets should be used when heating at high pressure
or heating penetrating type liquids. PHP offers a wide range of Flanged Immersion Heaters in various sizes, sheath materials and electrical ratings.
